THOMAS G. DOE, Founder, CEO
Mr. Doe is Founder and CEO of Municipal Market Advisors (MMA), an independent research and strategy firm for leading investment institutions involved in the fixed-income industry. Founded in 1995, MMA provides consulting services, benchmark data and subscription research reports to a diverse client base of more than 150 dealers, investors and issuers engaged in the tax-exempt market. The main office is based in Concord, MA with offices in Bradenton, FL, Westport, CT and Taos, NM. MMA’s subscription services provide clarity and insight into the sometimes complex world of municipal bond investing and trading.  

In recent years, Mr. Doe has addressed all of the leading groups in the municipal industry. Mr. Doe’s insight, candor and historical context is sought to establish a clear perspective of current conditions impacting investors and issuers in the municipal cash and derivative markets. Mr. Doe’s leadership was recognized when he was named to a 3-year term with the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, (MSRB) the regulatory entity of the municipal securities industry in 2002. He has also recently been named by Smith’s Research and Ratings as one of the top Municipal Strategists - determined by a poll of more than 1000 investors. TIMOTHY R. HOLLER, CFA COO
Timothy R. Holler is head of quantitative research and technology and COO at Municipal Market Advisors (MMA).  Mr. Holler's primary responsibilities include researching portfolio and trading strategies, and ensuring the efficiency and integrity of MMA’s database and MMA’s Consensus yield data.  

Mr. Holler also leads and develops the research used in risk management and trading modeling. Mr. Holler’s emphasis is on developing computer-programmed systematic trading/investment systems.  Mr. Holler places a premium on the rigorous historical testing of systems, a discipline that involves analyzing performance in the context of evolving market conditions.  

In addition to his responsibilities at MMA, Mr. Holler heads trading and quantitative modeling for Cutler Investment Corp., a registered Commodity Trading Advisory (CTA) whose investment activity is exclusively in the taxable derivative and futures markets.  

Prior to joining MMA in July 1995, Mr. Holler worked at Municipal Market Data as a Research Analyst from June 1993.  Mr. Holler began his investment career in June 1992 in the mutual fund department of the Boston Company.

Mr. Holler holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and attained the CFA designation in September 2002. top

MATT FABIAN, Managing Director
Mr. Fabian is the Senior Analyst for Municipal Market Advisors (MMA), an independent research and strategy provider specializing in municipal bonds.

Mr. Fabian has been a municipal analyst for thirteen years and is the author of The Weekly Outlook and a contributor to The Advisor. He has been the Senior Analyst with Municipal Market Advisors since July 2006 and is located in Westport, CT. Prior to his current position, Mr. Fabian spent two-and-a-half years as the lead municipal research analyst for UBS and headed up a group within UBS Wealth Management Research, the award-winning division of 150 analysts and economists supporting the company’s $1.3 trillion in invested wealth management assets. Mr. Fabian was the prime resource on municipal bond research for the UBS network of nearly 7,500 US financial advisors, while also advising the company’s institutional trading and investment-banking clients.

Mr. Fabian was also a research analyst with the UBS Municipal Securities Group for three years, an underwriting analyst with a municipal bond insurer for four years, and a municipal rating analyst with Moody’s Investors Service for three years. Mr. Fabian is currently on the Executive Board of the Municipal Analysts Group of New York and is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts. He has been a featured speaker at numerous industry conferences on a wide range of topics, including investing strategy, demographic trends, bond insurance, tax reform, derivatives, defaults, state governments, and tobacco bonds. He has been frequently quoted in The Bond Buyer, Bloomberg News, Reuters, Dow Jones Newswires, and the Wall Street Journal.

Mr. Fabian has a Masters of Public Administration degree from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Penn State. He has current Series 7, 63, and 16 NASD licenses. top

STEVE MCLAUGHLIN, Business Analytics
As Director, Business Analytics, Mr. McLaughlin is responsible for the company’s customer relations functions with a primary focus on educating customers and market participants of the daily use of the MMA analysis and market coverage. Mr. McLaughlin has over 18 years of professional experience and expertise with proven success managing, selling, trading and marketing municipal, taxable fixed income and derivative solutions in the Fixed Income and Municipal market to the Nation’s top institutions will be an asset to MMA .

Prior to joining MMA, Mr. McLaughlin served as VP, Head of Institutional Municipal Bond Sales at Bank of New York Capital Markets, in New York. He began his career at Oppenheimer, New York, in 1992, as VP & Account Manager – High Net Worth for 3 years where he was consistently recognized as No. 1 account manager for new business development. In 1995, Mr. McLaughlin joined First Union Capital Markets as Director of Institution Sales expanding his experience in fixed income sales. Thereafter in 2001, Mr. McLaughlin joined Bank One Capital Markets, New York, as Director, Debt Capital Markets- Investments where he was one of the Top 10% producers in sales and marketing. From 2003 to 2005, Mr. McLaughlin joined J.P. Morgan, New York as VP, Debt and VP, Capital Markets responsible for cash sales, account management and derivative solutions to the firm’s most important institutional accounts. top
